The Rules that Bind Us

Orgies require rules -- lots of them.

I know this seems counter intuitive, but free for all fuck fests are not proper orgies, they are anarchaic, chaotic disasters.

The God of this Blog, if there is a God, is Bacchus, a Greek version of the  Nietzschean Dionysus.  At least in Ancient Greece bacchanals were structured events. 

Which brings me back to rules and the will to power.  From all I can tell both the Law (society's codification of the rules) and Sex are about power and who controls it.

The power of the Law is backed up by violence and kidnapping (cops and jails).  The power of Sex is backed up by dominance and submission.

The trick is maintaining a balance.  Too much becomes a totalitarian dominatrix attempting to spank the masses into submission.  Too little is limp ineffectuality that evaporates all power.

The most power and the most freedom come from balancing the rules at the Orgy.  Remember this when you call your legislator to tell them how the fuck they should vote.  With the right rules, freedom expands.  The rules aren't constricting or limiting.  When carefully applied the rules become an entry into previously inaccessible beauty and previously inconceivable freedom.  It is not a question of more or less government, but a question of formulating the right kind of government -- whether in the bedroom or Congress.

Freedom legislated creates more freedom.  This is the lesson of the Constitution of the American Orgy.
